RUMOUR : Resistance 3 Logos & Details Appear, Announcement Soon?
WARNING – There are spoilers about Resistance 2’s story and ending contained within this rumour.
Today I’ve received news on a new rumour, this time about Resistance 3, yes you heard me right, RESISTANCE 3. I know that Resistance 2 has just been released in UK/Europe today and this may seem premature, but this news comes from the same person who gave me the rumour on the MGS4 Expansion Pack, which became a hot topic of discussion.
This rumour suggests that SCEA and Insomniac Games will officially announce Resistance 3 in February 2009 along with the first collection of screenshots and the first details of the game, the rumour also suggests that you will play as Cappelli (Member of SRPA) and that Resistance 3 does indeed pick up exactly where Resistance 2 ended, the rumour also said that SCEA and Insomniac Games are planning on releasing Resistance 3 Exclusively for the PlayStation 3 in November 2010
If you’ve completed Resistance 2 then you’ll remember that Cappelli shot Nathan Hale through the head when he finally turned into an advanced form of Chimera, well at this point Cappelli alerts SRPA and Nathan Hale’s body is recovered but it turns out that Nathan Hale isn’t dead, he is in fact just in a coma and he avoided dying because of his Chimeran healing abilities. Then after being studied for 2 weeks Nathan Hale wakes up, breaks free and escapes from SRPA’s custody, from here he uses the knowledge and memories he aqquired from Daedelus and he assumes control of the Chimeran forces. He intends to finish Daedelus’s plan and launch a worldwide assault against the human population. Now it’s upto Cappelli and the last few members of SRPA to track Nathan Hale and stop him and the Chimeran threat for good.
But the most interesting part of this rumour is that it contained two attached files and these were in fact the proposed logos for Resistance 3.

that story makes sense but i would rather finish the story as hale since i’ve gotten used to him in R1 and R2. the logos seem fake to me idk the lettering and the number seem kind of off. AND WHAT BUILDING IS THAT IN THE A it doesnt seem like anything

i agree with casey but without playing as hale the game wont be as good. haale is a legend like solid snake or gabe logan, hell its only there 2nd game released and its got game of the year written all over it. and resistance for psp wont have hale but its supposed to be the game that digs psp out of the ground and levels it back to the top of portible shit.
and ps3 has alot in store theres rumors of it going 3-D (just like in movies) in 2010. thats gonna kill x-box 360 and piss on it’s grave! Playstation will be at the top yet agian where it always has been in the past consoles

Very very unlikely….it would mean way to much work for Sony….and a lot of patchs and or updates to games like Killzone or Monster hunter….but maybe when PSP 2 comes out…

ye guys the spoiler thing wasfairly easy to spot, but some of t des make sence with the whole oma thing cos like tbh in both r1 and r2 there hasn been any form of human-based chimera ththas died frm one shot to the head from a weak weapon(and this was a pistol) so surely he cant just die like dat and if he had a bitof daedalus(sorry for spelling) in him then he must almost defanatly still be alive. just a thought fro a game geek =P the subject does make you think alot though.
and i believe if it was true tht the tower in the pic is just a placeholder for future ideas.

Just beat R2, badass game. The potential story line mentioned for R3 makes perfect sense given the ending of R2 and would make a cool twist to be playing against Hale in the final battle.
And seriously anyone complaining about the spoiler is an idiot. If a bright red warning isn’t enough for you then you have no hope in life.

Hmm….No. How would anyone out side of Insomniac ever know the status of a game even before the community of the game itself? Sure posts kinda stopped about this, but I just have to laugh at this post. So the second game is just released, and before any time is in to even work on stories, people are saying screenshots are already going to be up…..

Wow, as the writer states there is a spoiler to the resistance2 ending. If you guys/girls haven’t finished the game take notice of the spoiler in RED and don’t read on. If you really want to ruin it for yourselves go ahead and read it. The images at the top or the ‘logos’ look like something done in paint as some people have previously stated. I have had res2 since it first came out (and res1) and have beat them both heaps of time over. The fun never ends. And with res3. We may as well wait until insomniac games release the trailer for it and some screenshots, untill then, we have to wait.
Hale would have been another Deadalus, so a gunshot shouldn’t have affected him. I hope for a third installment, but I’m more curious about which setting they would choose. Fall of Man took place in Britain, Retribution in European conversion centers, and R2 in America. An interesting setting for R3 would be retaking Asia from Chimeran forces.
